The Social Policy Society, run by our department’s students, and the General Mine Workers’ Union jointly organized a documentary event on coal to commemorate the February 6, 2023 earthquakes and honor the miners who responded during those disasters. The program opened with brief remarks by our Department Chair, Prof. Dr. Sadık Kılıç, and Gürkay Gündoğan of the General Mine Workers’ Union, and concluded with a screening of the coal-themed documentary.
